Women's hockey medal
Feb. 25th, 2010 06:45 pmIf the US had to lose the gold to someone, I'm glad it was Canada that took the gold on home ice. We are sisters separated by an invisible line on a map and I can't help but feel happy for Canada and sad for the US all at the same time.

Yes. Years ago when three very close friends from high school came to visit, almost the first things out of their mouths was how they were so glad they found me again, how I was the perfect person to help 'their cause' because of my oratory and writing skills, etc.
Their cause tured out to be a white supremesist movement who's goal was to infiltrate various political parties to promote the 'removal of recially based undesirables' from the US.
I was floored. None of them had *ever* talked like that when I had known them before. This behaviour was 180 degrees from the people I had known back then.
They were firmly escorted to the door and told not only to never come back but to never talk to me again.
