I don't work now. That whole 'disability' thing. But I'd go back to school and take classes in things I've always wanted to but didn't let myself take because it would either be 'a waste of money' or 'taking money away from the family'.

Sadly, I'm pre-programmed to care what people think. I think it's genetic. it's definitely 'nuture and nature'. But I think being financially free might help decrease that a bit.

Hum ... let me clarify this. My 'In Law' family and my 'Family of Choice'. The only remandier of my 'blood family' is one sister and she can figure out her own life. She was never there for me and pretty much only came to me to further her own projects and needs. I'm not going to bail her out anymore. I've done that enough in the past.

And there would be several charities that would be getting a regular donation.

Yeah. I'd have help figuring it out [financial adviser] because there are times my head starts whispering 'There's no therapy like retail therapy'. But without a budget things go wonky.

In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer; and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it! Post this on your LJ if you know someone who has or had cancer.

I have a very limited knowledge of my direct family, their parents, etc. I know my mom had precancerous colon polyps that were removed. My husband's step dad is dealing with melanoma and being treated well for it. A 'step-aunt' [husband's aunt] is dealing with breast cancer.

I've had a lot of friends who have been touched by cancer in some form: breast, uterine, color, liver, etc. Most made it through the battle. Two didn't.

let's see, three of my mother's siblings, and one of my father's all past away from cancer. I believe at two of my aunts (by marriage) as well. Each had a different one: lung, brain, kidneys, throat and I'm forgetting one.

Myself? I had cervical cancer [stage 3] back in the 70's when I was in my 20's. I get a pap every year along with a mammogram.

So far so good.

“The Hot Zone” is a true history of the beginning of the research that went into 'discovering' and trying to understand the hemorrhagic virii: it chronicles a series of real situations that cumulatives in the first documented outbreak of the Ebola virus in the US. Yes, it's an 'old book', but that does not negate it's information.

1.) What was your favorite birthday (party) ?

Most of my birthdays were spent either working or, while I was in school, at the school's winter concert: I'm a December kid. Himself took me out to dinner once at the RAM on the waterfront for my birthday and that was pretty wonderful.

2.) Where would you rather live and why: a houseboat, a tourbus, or a private plane?

A houseboat. No doubt about it. I used to houseboat sit for friends years and years ago during the summer on Lake Union, Seattle, WA. and it was wonderful.

3.) If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

I can't think of a single thing. I had surgery on my jaw once and ended up with my mouth wired shut for 8 weeks. Ice cream and milk shakes became hateful in less than a week.

If I *had* to choose something, I'd got with stir fried mixed veggies.

4.) What's your favorite (genre) section in the library?

Science fiction. Since I can remember reading anything.

5.) If you could be written into one of your favorite novels, which one and why?

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.
